The EaRTH Center Early Career Accelerator Program in Environmental Health brings together UCSF postdoctoral scholars for bimonthly in-person meetings (alternating UCSF campuses) to address career development with topics including time management, job applications, curriculum vitae and biosketches, research ideas, statistical methods, grant writing, paper submissions, oral presentations and social media tools.
Meetings also include faculty guests to discuss their career trajectory with tips for a successful career in academia, importance of diversity, and critiquing papers. This program is directed by Drs. Amy Padula and Joshua Robinson.
There is an expected attendance of at least 80% of the meetings (~5 meetings) in the 1-year program (with options to continue after the year). No prior experience in environmental health is required, but an interest is!
Funding opportunity
Participants who successfully complete all program requirements will be eligible to apply for a competitive research pilot award of up to $7,500. Funding eligibility is contingent upon meeting all program requirements. Pilot awards are competitive and subject to application review and available funding.
